The Town of Lowell and Indiana American Water Company will hold a public information meeting for their upcoming West Side Sewer/Water Project. Representatives from engineering, land acquisition and construction will be available to discuss all aspects of the upcoming project. The meeting will be held on Friday, February 28 at 2:30 p.m. at the Cedar Creek Township Trustee’s Office at 151 N Fremont Street, Lowell.
The purpose of the project is to provide sanitary sewer and potable water services (including fire protection) to the Lake Prairie School and to existing and future residential and commercial users. Generally, both sanitary and sewer infrastructure will be installed within easements adjoining the south right-of-way of SR 2 from just east of Westmeadow Place to the Lake Prairie Elementary School. Work will also extend within Oakley Avenue from its west end to Nichols Street.
R&R Sewer of Lowell was selected by Lowell to install the sanitary sewer. Austgen Equipment, also of Lowell, was selected by Indiana-American to install the water main. Representatives from both contractors will also be in attendance.
Construction for both projects is anticipated to begin in March of this year and be substantially completed by the end of this year.
If you are unable to attend the meeting and have questions, feel free to contact Craig Hendrix, Lowell Town Manager, by telephone at 219.696.7794 or by email at chendrix@lowell.net.
